ENDLESS SUMMER
Beach Boys Tribute Band

what
Endless Summer poster

The fact that Craig Ruhnke looks and sounds like Beach Boys lead singer Mike Love, makes his role as leader of tribute band, "Endless Summer", all the more effective. And Craig not only sings those impossibly high vocal parts, he also plays almost any musical instrument a rock'n'roll band needs.

His uncanny ability to listen to a record, figure out how it's put together, then do it himself, is the key to Endless Summer's amazingly accurate performance of Beach Boy classics, like "Surfin' USA", "California Girls" and "Little Deuce Coupe". Since 1995, the Toronto band's great performances have taken them across the U.S. and Canada and earned them a legion of loyal fans, including many here in Bancroft.

Called "Canada's Beach Boy" by the broadcast industry, his 1974 world-wide hit "Summer Girl" is a testament to Craig Ruhnke's talent. And his quiet, unassuming manner makes him and his band a pleasure to work with and an enjoyable concert attraction. Listening to them perform the hits of The Beach Boys and other sixties stars will instantly transport you to a beach in the California sun.

In response to the many phone calls and e-mails received since their knockout concert here in 2011, the Bancroft Times is pleased to announce that Endless Summer is coming back for another concert, at the Bancroft Village Playhouse, on Saturday, May 11th, at 8PM. Tickets are on sale now, at Harvest Moon, 33 Station Street, in Bancroft (613) 332-4334.

Pretend you're back in High School and sing along and with North America's best-loved Beach Boys tribute band, "Endless Summer". And when the show is over, take home an autographed copy of their CD "All Your Surfin' Hits" to play for friends and relatives. They won't believe it isn't the Beach Boys.

LEGENDARY PATSY CLINE
Patsy Cline Tribute

NEW PATSY CLINE TRIBUTE DEBUTS IN BANCROFT

In the early sixties, recording star Patsy Cline took country music uptown, with songs like "I Fall To Pieces", "Walking After Midnight" and, the top jukebox hit of all time, Willie Nelson's timeless "Crazy". In the process, she created a new musical genre, successfully melding, country, pop and blues styles. She became the standard by which female country singers are judged to this day. Her concerts were sell-outs and her performances on The Grand Ol' Opry were popular with millions in the U.S. and Canada. Her records reached the top of both the country and pop charts, still selling today, despite her untimely death in a 1963 plane crash. She was truly one of a kind

Amberley Beatty has performed her "Legendary Patsy Cline" tribute countless times, to the delight of audiences on both sides of the Canada/US border. A consummate entertainer, she is a talented singer and actress, indispensible talents for a successful tribute artist. Besides years of fronting dance bands, she has also performed lead roles in theatrical productions as diverse as "Oliver" and "Anne of Green Gables". "I love great songs and I love Patsy Cline" says Amberley. This may be the reason she plays the late star so brilliantly.

"I first witnessed Amberley's amazing show at the Lancaster Opera House, in upstate New York. Her personification of Patsy Cline was so accurate and so deep, it took my breath away. I had seen other Patsy Cline tributes, but nothing like this one. The lady "talked the talk" and "walked the walk", nailing every nuance of every song, centre-stage with the Sweet Dreams, or strolling through the aisles, singing and joking with the audience, as Cline did". (Merv Buchanan, Trend Records)

The Bancroft Times is pleased to present, for the first time in central Ontario, "The Legendary Patsy Cline", starring Amberley Beatty and The Sweet Dreams, in concert, Saturday, June 8th, at the Bancroft Village Playhouse. Tickets are $29, including tax, at Harvest Moon, 33 Station St, in Bancroft (613) 332-4334.
